Data Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that enable analytics, reporting, and advanced data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with data analysts, BI developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure data availability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines from multiple data sources
Build and optimize data models for analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption
Develop and manage data ingestion frameworks (batch and real-time)
Ensure data quality, integrity, performance, and reliability across systems
Work with cloud data platforms and distributed data processing frameworks
Collaborate with BI, analytics, and application teams to understand data needs
Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices
Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance
Maintain technical documentation and follow SDLC best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and pipeline orchestration
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
Experience with data warehouses and data lakes
Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
Good understanding of data quality, testing, and performance tuning
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Databricks, Hadoop)
Knowledge of streaming frameworks (Kafka, Event Hubs, Kinesis)
Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
Knowledge of metadata management and data catalog tools
Tools & Technologies (depending on project)
Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift
Big Data: Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake
Cloud: Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow
Programming: Python, SQL, Scala
Orchestration: Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Prefect
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
